Every twenty contestants are talented, with very little difference among them.

Besides the input from the training session that you have been getting, how have you been personally preparing yourself for the big day?
There are things like physical stuffs, gaining knowledge and all. And for the big day I’m prepared mentally, focusing on my strengths and improving on my weakness.




So, let's say that you get declared as Miss Nepal 2008. What is the first thing you would do as a Miss Nepal?
Let action speak better than words. I would like to speak for justice of internally displaced people.

What aspect of Nepal would you opt for to rightly represent our country in the international arena?
Several changes in our country has introduced itself world wide. And I would like to represent the ‘New Nepal’.

Until now, under your own individual evaluation, what chances do you think you have to bag the title crown? You can indicate the answer in percentage if you want to.
I know I have chances to win, but don’t know what future has in store for me.

Shavona is into dancing, reading and designing. She plays Basketball, Swimming, Judo and Karate. Her ambition is to be a successful entrepreneur as she believes that the number of prominent business women in Nepal is limited in comparison to other fields.

Shavona, a +2 graduate from Ace Institute of Management is a well spoken girl who describes herself as intelligent and charming. If it hadn't been for Miss Nepal, she would have been on her way to join her sister in Australia to do Bachelors in Business studies.
Miss Nepal for her is a dream come true and she is determined to win the title and be amongst the top five in Miss World. However, unlike most contestants, Shavona is against swimwear in the pageant and says that she would never take part in the swimwear round if she gets to participate in Miss World. In her free time, she loves to read and listen to music. She also likes listening to Buddhist chant as it soothes and elevates her mood. A huge fan of Sidney Sheldon, she enjoys reading his suspense-packed novels.
Her other interest is designing. Though she has taken no training and courses in designing, she experiments with her skills in just about every opportunity she can lay her hands on. She loves to party but attends only those organized by her friends. She loves to shop - she is almost addicted to it. She confesses and looks forward to the day when she won't have to ask her parents to help out on one of her shopping sprees.

Manisha grew up with her paternal grandmother in Varanasi,
India. She studied in Vasant Kanya Mahavidhyalay. Then she
re-located to New Delhi and was enrolled in Army Public
School. After completing her school, Manisha had planned to
study medicine and become a doctor.
Instead of becoming a doctor, fate led her to modeling, and
then onto the tinsel screen in Nepal in a 1989 movie 'Pheri
Betaula'. She then re-located to Bombay and debuted in a
Bollywood movie titled 'First Love Letter' which was
released in 1991.
Manisha has won five awards for her performance in 'Bombay',
'Khamoshi: The Musical'(two awards), 'Company', and 'Escape
from Taliban'.
She has obtained a Diploma in Film Making from New York,
U.S.A., and is a member of the Independent Film-Makers
Society. She is also the goodwill ambassador on U.N.F.P.A..
She is actively involved in bettering the status of women,
women's rights, prevention of violence against women, as
well as in the active prevention human trafficking,
especially Nepali women, who are abducted and sold as
prostitutes. She is well versed in the Bharatnatyam and
Manipuri dance forms.
